About Pebble Beach Golf Links

Pebble Beach Golf Links is one of the most famous and beautiful golf courses in the world. Located on the stunning Monterey Peninsula in California, it has hosted multiple U.S. Open Championships and is a regular stop on the PGA Tour.

Course History:

Designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant in 1919, the original par 4 18th hole was lengthened to a par five in 1922. Over the years, the course has seen five green redesigns by William Fowler and more recently a remake of the par 3 5th hole by Jack Nicklaus.

Signature Holes:

  • 7th Hole: One of the most famous par 3s in golf, playing just over 100 yards to a tiny green perched on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean.
  • 8th Hole: A spectacular par 4 with a second shot over a chasm to a small green.
  • 17th Hole: The site of Tom Watson's famous chip-in during the 1982 U.S. Open, this par 3 features one of the smallest greens in championship golf.
  • 18th Hole: One of golf's most recognized finishing holes, this par 5 hugs the Pacific Ocean all along the left side.

Tournament History:

Pebble Beach has hosted six U.S. Open Championships (1972, 1982, 1992, 2000, 2010, and 2019) and is scheduled to host again in 2027. It is also the annual host of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, formerly known as the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am.
